What does a man and a van do?

Who does our man and van option suit? There are a number of reasons that you may need a man and van in Devon. A few of these reasons could be:

How much does a man and van cost?

A man and van option can be less than you may think. Unlike our full removal services, we do not need to book quotation surveys, block out one or more days for a full move and allow for delays caused by completion issues. Not having to do this means we can we charge accordingly.

We offer fixed prices for individual furniture deliveries etc, whilst we can offer an hourly rate where there are multiple items.

Please note we will arrive at your property for 09:00am (traffic dependent) and finish at 15:00pm. The charge is a set fee of £360.00, regardless of whether we finish within the 6 hours. This can include multiple trips back and forth from each property if required, as long as it remains within the 6 hours. Should you want additional time on top of the 6 hours, this can be arranged for an additional charge. The price covers travel / fuel for up to 20 miles. Additional mileage will be charged at £0.50p per mile.

Is it cheaper to hire a van or a man with a van?

You may have the temptation to hire a van and ask friends and family to help. First of all by the time you factor in van hire, fuel and additional insurances from van hire places, you could actually end up paying more than if you asked us to move your item(s). You will also run the risk of injury if you try to move yourselves. Heavy furniture needs to be lifted properly and safely, our staff are trained and used to this. Eliminate the risk of injury or damage to the furniture by employing us to do the hard work for you.

We can supply one van and one driver if you want to keep the cost down, or we can have two staff and one van if you would rather pay a little extra and not have to worry about helping.

Our ethos at Empire Removals is that you should not receive a less professional service just because you have less to move. When using our man & van option, you get the same professional approach to moving that our removals service provides, just on a smaller scale. . Whilst a man and van is not the right option for a large move or a house move in a chain due to time restrictions, it can be a very useful service if done correctly for a range of customers.
